Prior Lake

I moved out to Prior Lake last may and this is my first season of ice fishing on Prior. a couple buddies and I want to have a friday night fishing night every friday night after we put our kids to bed. Where would be some good locations where we are not going to P-O a bunch of guys who don't like the idea of someone punching holes at 8:30 at night......i have fished prior from a boat and fished it once in the winter.... would steering clear of the shanty town on the north side be the best Idea and set up off the weed line off of sand point be the best bet? what about on the upper part of the lake

how is the ice by sandy point? I am looking to go out on friday, i have the day off.

Plenty of ice off sand point. I would bet at least 8 inches by Friday if not more.

I see the gate at Sandy beach is still locked. Anyone know if the city of prior lake is going to unlock it to allow access? I wonder if they have preasure from the lake shore owners to keep it locked?

I tried to call the city to ask when they will open the gate. No one answered. It sure would be nice just to drive down to the beach. All that gear can get real heavy.
