2.5 inch auger?

Hibbing

Question

I heard from someone that they make a 2.5 inch auger. This would be perfect to drop a transducer into. Anyone know where I can finf one?

It might be a neat idea but I'd think against it. Putting a transducer into a hole that small would be asking for trouble.IMO I've had them freeze to the sides of holes much bigger and they're no fun to get out. 2 1/2 " hole might freeze shut entirely.

Why would that be nice? Then you would have to carry another piece of equipment unless your fish are than small that they can fit in a 2.5 hole.

I have a small 3” Mora that we used to carry around just for a transducer hole. Would drill a 3” between my two holes and never have to worry about pulling the transducer or getting tangled in it. Never had the transducer freeze in it and have always used it in my shack. It was pretty slick when we did use it but now it’s just that additional piece of equipment I don’t want to drag with me. Seems like I have enough stuff in my shack already. Pretty soon my sled will be looking like Duffmans!! LOL!!
