A New Vet

I live in St. Paul currently. I need a new Vet. I just don't like mine. He is strange and doesn't understand Luci's needs. Can any of you that have Hunting dogs recommend someone?? Thanks. Tim

Do a search and this topic comes up quite often. I use Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital. Dr. Fran Smith has a practice in Burnsville and is also highly regarded. I've thought about using her with her knowledge of lab genetics but have a hard time leaving a practice that treats us so well. Look at my location and realize I'm driving 45 minutes to get there and flinch a little when I see the bill. I've been through what it sounds like you have and it's worth it to have your hounds in trusted hands.

Lucy and tim, If your dod likes wemen or trusts wemen. LOL one out of two aint bad! grin.gif

Anyways, this might be a ways out of your way but I use a vet clinic called the gental doctor vet clinic. In Savage. 952-895-8486. All wemen! tongue.gif

My lab trusts wemen and feels more like it is a good time to go to the vet. Even if it is more expencive, I am willing to pay it.

Good luck on your search! I usually trust my gut.

I have shorthairs and go to Companion Animal Hospital in Eagan for the past 11 years. They generally understand hunting dogs. One doctor there owns a shorthair. Their number is (651)456-5665. I've been very pleased with them over the years.
