Checked the ice on a few lakes by the ottertail area today 12/11/04.

Walker lake - almost froze over except where the river comes in.

Ottertail Lake - Ice around the edges about 100 yrds out, doesn't look safe at all.

Donald lake - Open spots all over, one guy was fishing about 100 ft out.

Long Lake on three lakes retreat - parts were open also but a few guys fishing it.

Portage lake - wide open.

Anna Lake north of Underwood had about 4 inches on Saturday right off the access. I walked out about 75 yards and there was still about 4 inches. The ice was good and clear, but there was some slush on top.

So how did the ice fair with all the wind the last 2 days? I was hoping to come up that way this weekend and maybe try walker but not sure how thick the ice is. With the temps we are having it should be making more ice i hope. Thanks for any info. Oh does any one have the phone number for kens bait on ottertail.
