Just wondering if it is legal to purposely fish for walleyes on Red and release them. Or do you have to be fishing crappies or pike and get them by accident.

Hope this question makes sense.

It's illegal to "target walleyes" .... although I've caught more walleyes on crappie minnows and 2# test while chasing crappies than I have fishing for walleyes anywhere else except LOW.
