A heads up.....

I have posted in the Miss. 4-11 forum a question regarding an ice event , or rally, for the backwaters. I'd like some serious input if any of the readers here are interested. Please read and respond to this in that forum.

Thanks everyone!

I am all for it. There are plenty of great spots in the backwaters to fish. Lets just hope we get some ice here soon, or I am going to go nuts!

Have you noticed how today is sort of a downward turn from "nice"? We can use the colder weather for a while now. Sort of goes with the season. And of courseif it made some ice, well....

who likes a windstorm??? I mean really??? Even people in the windmill business don't like days like today. tongue.gif

It will, at least, bring temps back to normal.

Wx....Wry humor here. I am tired of being on the fence with the weather is all. I'd just as soon see the wind somewhere else really. Of all the elements that can screw up a day of fishing, wind has to be the worst of all.

If you want to put this gathering on your calendar, you are more than welcome to share the shack with me. If you can't swing the whole day, you can always do a half day. And I have all the tackle you'd need. Toss me a mail and we'll talk about it if you want.

I was just kidding around, too. But seriously...I do hate windstorms. wink.gif And I'm tired of this crazy weather and wouldn't mind a little bit of "normal" (keeping in mind I consider a good snowstorm normal)...but I guess what makes MN great is the "abnormal" weather. smile.gif Back in Denver we'd get some downsloping windstorms off the mountains that would put your shed in your neighbors lawn on a bright sunny day. yuck.

I'd love to join you! As far as I can tell, I should be free that weekend. I'll drop you a line soon.

I am a Rochester transplant. I have no idea where to go on the back waters, but depending on day, I may be in. I could probably drag MURPH out with me too if we can convince him that the ice is safe. I may get him a pair of arm floatees for x-mas.

Mnfish....All you need do id get to Wabasha and ask how to get to Nelson. Once you are across the high bridge, you will come across two different parking areas, perhaps a half mile apart. We will be fishing out of one of those lots to start, the exact one will be announced a bit later as we determine where the best bite will be. Both lots are located on the south (right hand) side of the road as you head to Ws.

Bring a carload, including Murph! Generaly the areas we will be looking to for the fish will have very limited current exposure and the ice sets up very solid in there.

Again.....you are more than welcome to join in. If you e-mail me some idea where you would be coming from I can put you on the high bridge. What I'd need to know is what hiway you would access hiway 61 from. The rest is easy.
