Briggs Lake chain

I made a run out to the Briggs area this morning. all three are iced over. Julia was showing open water along the shore edges near the access. I broke through for the first six feet or so before I was able to get onto solid ice that would hold me. It was obvious that people had pulled sleds out recently from the tracks on the ice. The ice has a cloudy, milky look however, much like late season ice. Rush also showed tracks of sleds or portables being pulled out. There were 4-5 houses in the channel on the south side of Briggs. I would think with the colder nights being forecast for the next few days it should really firm up. I wasn't there to fish just check the conditions, so no fishing report. Use caution if you're headed out. Good luck and hang on. Bill

Thanks Bill! I haven't been here for a while, but it's always awesome to get your reports. They're a HUGE help to guys like me (two young kids, working wife) that don't get to scout much.
