christmas gift for ice fisherman

chiroeye

Question

My brother is wanting christmas ideas from me and I am stuck. I am an avid ice fisherman and was wondering if anyone out there has any cool gadgets or tools they like while ice fishing(20-40$). I have vex, aqua view, buddy heater, lantern, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd recommend a Tica reel for Ice fishing. Another option is a gift certificate to a sporting goods store. You can't go wrong there.

Have fun shopping,

Dooohhh! I was thinking about posting this topic the other day but got beat to it! Drat!

I was thinking ice fishing gifts for under $25 but we could bump it up to $30-40.

My thoughts:

1- Princeton Tec Aurora Headlamp

2- Lakemaster Lake maps

3- Frabill Min-O-Life Bait Bucket

4- Lindy Tazer

5- Fillet Knife

If you fish at night or in a house at twilight, a head lamp with white LEDs and a red LED is great to have.

Can never have enough tackle or gear. Check out this sites sponsors theres a whole slough products for $20 or under.

How about Islander Lures Walleye/Crappie/Perch Kit.

Or an assortment of Angel Eyes and Go Devils

Tipups?

I bought a JR's eight LED flashlight at the Ice Show, these are sweet.

Custom Jigs and Spins would make a great stocking stuffer too.

Who wouldn't like a Big Dipper?

Gift certificates from a nearby sporting goods store!

They should offer them from FishingMinnesota.com and that way you could shop from your computer!

I would get some for my friends and relatives for sure if they sold them here! shocked.gif

I got a pair of Georgia Boot Ice Trekkers in Cabelas outlet store a couple years ago for $90. The spikes are great for traction and the boots are warm enough, but I think the sole is too hard/stiff, and with all the insulation in them I had to get one about 2 sizes larger than normal for it to fit comfortably.

My pair was a gift from a client so I am not 100% sure what the price was then.

I chose mine in a larger size then I needed mostly because my feet stay warmer with more wiggle room and I like thick Smartwool socks. My pair is in a camo pattern and not in the brown as shown above.

I found a spot online they had them for $209. Wow must be some darn nice boots. I think I will stay with the Rockies a little more in my price range
