We've been staying at and fishing out of Nodak on the S side of the lake for several years. Great guys, great roads, good info on the fishing.

There are several good resorts in the area (and a few that receive some complaints). I'm sure you'll see their names if you keep watching this forum or go back through the posts from last winter.

do they have a problem with bringing up your own permenant ice house with wheels? I know some of the resorts on Mille Lacs get kinda crabby if you do that.... i am planning on a vactaion with the ice house and since the limie on low changed.. I would like to try winnie for some perch and the eye also if one swims by.... any good spots to go to for a guy that has never fished the lake? How about spots to stay away from?

you could also try high banks resort or the pines resort I know they wouldnt have a problem with you bringing your own house. I would get a map with the gps cords and pick one and go from there fish the edges or on top wherever you find the fish. If no good go to the next

Both Nodaks and Highbanks have a nice access. In my experience, the guys at Nodaks actually know a lot more about the fishing but the guy who runs the place might not be as helpful as he would be if you rented from him. (He actually refused to give me a GPS number once.)

The new owners of Highbanks are very friendly but seem to know alot less about the fishing, although I'm sure they are learning more all the time.
