trying to find a lake help!

I'm just starting out in the world of ice fishing and I have a cabin in backus MN 30 miles north of brainerd the problem is I don't know the area well and I would like to know if there is any good ice fishing lakes in the area my cabin is down the road from ox yoke lake any help would be great and appreciated thanks for your time

I agree, check with Swansons or Godfrey's (in Backus). There's ALWAYS something going on,on Pleasant or Birch Lakes. Last winter, I spent 6 days lake hopping in exactly that area. Lotsa fun and some great fishing memories! I'm based about 6 mi east of Godfreys store. I'm looking foreward to trying it SOMETIME again this ??winter??. You practically can't go wrong up there, It spoiled southern MN fishing for me though. I guess it was time for me to "expand my horizons"!
