Decoy,

Where did you hear that a snowmobile fell through at 8th St?

I work at TRF Radio and we haven't heard anything about it, that's not saying we know everything or hear about everything, but I'm supprised I haven't heard of it.

I was told there is over 6" of ice by 8th Street. If a snowmobile fell through, it must have been in the river channel?

Oh well, If I hear anything about it, I'll let you know.

I heard from more than one fisherman on Sat. morning that there was a set of sled tracks going off the grass by the boat ramp. These tracks lead out and stop at an area of broken ice with sticks to mark the area. Also a set of foot tracks leaving this area. I guess the person might have realize the magnitude of their poor choice and want to keep it "hush - hush."

Keep your ears open.

Furthermore, There are already snowmobilers out on the river. I hope these guys realize that there is less than two (2) inches of ice on the center of the channel. Please be safe not stupid. I would hate to hear of a tragedy. I would say use caution, but it seems that the cautious are not the ones sledding the river at this time.

Yah, I saw the tracks this afternoon running all the way to the train bridge! Wow some people are dumb! I would love to take my sled down the river for a run, but not yet! I know the ice down the channel is not thick enough, and it's definetly not thick enough by the train bridge.

So whats the story on the ice thickness by 8th street? I was thinking of giving it a go this Saturday. Anyone having any success?
