Camp Pennington

Has anybody stayed at or heard anything about Camp Pennington on Kitchi Lake? Good, bad or otherwise. We,re looking for a smaller less crowded place for next summer, probably in September. Thanks much, Bob T.

You don't have to worry about crowds in Sept. unless you hit one of the weekends for a Muskie Tournament, even then the Lake or the resorts are not real crowded with the exception of the host resort. You are off the beaten path, where you are is going to be quiet. Not that there is anything wrong with that............Ron

Gowdy, from mid-August on, I don't spend much time in there unless the winds are just beating me to death. But yes, it does get weedy. Normally in the fall, on a regular year, the fish are biting good on the main bars which is a lot closer and a lot more convenient to get to. Hey, thanks for that cigar last year at the "Hole", just happened to remember that. Ron
