Ice Series Coming

Recommended Posts

The Ice Series is coming soon.

I had a great time at the events last year. It was a great opportunity to get to know FM'ers. I came away with a fun time, Great friends, tips and tactics and a few great prizes. I can't say enough about how making new friends has changed things for me. It lead to MANY great fishing adventures this year! Half of the time on the water I wasn't even fishing but just BS'ing with others. Thats the cool thing about Ice Leaders it is not all about who catches the most, biggest to have an equal chance at some great prizes. I am looking forward to this years events.

Jan 8th - Winnie - Denny's Resort

Jan 22nd - Medicine Lake - Harty's Boatworks and Baitshop

Jan 29th- Burntside Bash

Feb 5th - Minnetonka - Spring Park Bay Public Access

Feb 12th - Rush Lake - CJ's on Rush

Feb 19th - Nelson Lake, Hayward, Wisconsin- Nelson Lake Landing Resort

Feb 26th - Channel Lake, Fox Lake Chain of Lakes, Illinois

March 19th - Rainy Lake - Woody's

Come and participate in one of the most fun events to be held on the ice this year.

We are making a committment this year to provide more guides and volenteers to help you locate fish and learn more about this great sport. All are welcome from novice to expert.

Once again we have some great sponsors and prizes lined up, more on that to come soon.

I can't wait for the ICE Series again! I'm a die hard ice fisherman, and a chance to get out on the ice and talk with fellow fishing friends and fish some of the best ice fishing destinations around along with tossing in some top-notch prizes and a lot of fun...tough to beat in my opinion. Brian is right, I've met a lot of people at the events and I've even made it out on the ice with several of them after the events as well. The ICE Series is a great oppoortunity to take your whole family out on the ice and have a good time. We will have several guides available to take people out and put them on fish for no charge other then the $10 or $15 entry fee.

Brian and I will be at all of the events expect for the Channel Lake one, so we're looking forward to meeting a lot of you and also getting a chance to meet up with some of the people we've talked with the past. Only a month away and we'll be on Winnie! smile.gif

Good Fishin,

Matt Johnson

Winnie is know for excellent perch and walleye action, as well as some trophy pike. Eelpout, tulibee, crappies, bluegills and bass are also present. A very well-rounded lake and I expect to see some nice fish brought in.

I will be there, but I wish I could be up there on Friday. The teaching thing stops me from doing that. I already taking a personal day a week from Friday for a LOW trip. See you on Saturday

Just got off of the phone with Pat from Denny's . As it stands right now if you have a wheeler or sled you should bring them. We are optimistic with this weeks temps that he will have a road going out about 1 1/2 miles. We could spread out there. That would put us plenty close to some prime areas.

Denny's will be open @ 6:30 that morning and will have coffee and donuts available for purchase. He will have bait available as well. (Waxies, red eurolarvae, fatheads and tip-up minnows)

Folowing the contest and awards ceremony we will be having a giant fish fry for all contestants and staff members. Donated fish from the event will be gladly accepted. Cost for this dinner will be $5.00 per person and will include fish, potatoes and all the fixin's. It was awesome last year. The fish fry will start @ 6:30 to give those who want to fish the evening walleye bite a chance to do so and still be able to enjoy the fish fry and camraderie.

Come out and enjoy the day with us. You will find out that "We have more fun"
