Kellog area

Has anyone fished down around the kellog area. Just checking to see if i should make a trip from red wing or not.

I was in Wabasha on Monday and Tuesday. The dike road had some ice in certain areas, none in others. The harbor was the same. The water below thew dam at Alma has been pretty cold now for a week or so. The backwaters there, where current is limited, may have sufficient ice for fishing now....but. Every year someone goes thru trying to push the envelope. Yesterday was pretty warm and today is slated to be likewise. Rain is in the weather for Monday I believe. Young ice will weaken, even if it is clear and hard, with warm temps. I'll not be on the ice until we have had some nights in the teens or single digits with daytime highs in the lower twenties. Beginning the middle of next week we are supposed to be seeing exactly those kinds of temps. Without snow the existing ice will grow enough to be safe in two nights. I'd wait and not push it.
