worth the drive

Jerry from Roger's has a photo of a stretch of open water about 50 yards wide and growing as he described it which opened up the other night.

Even if the ice is 3-4 inches thick, its not fun to get stuck on the other side of that open water.

I would say call the resorts before heading out. It still seems touch and go to me. It also depends on how far you are driving. I personally wouldn't make the 5 hour drive yet.

thanks thats what ive been waiting for. just wanted to know if the ice was safe to walk out 2 miles but if theres open water no way ill look for a different area. thanks for the report ill be heading up that way on the 5th of jan ill be looking for info than.

was at the bait store and heard Hillmans is letting people out, so i am heading up there today, will let everyone know how we do

was out last night, aboot 1 1/4 miles. found 5 inches mostly everywhere. heard from Hillman's that there was 5 inches all the way out to his two miles marker. only got three small walleyes between four guys.
