Headed to VDL on the 28th - Looking for Pointers

I'm headed to Vermillion Dam Lodge on the 28th to spend new years with friends. I'm looking for any information on early ice fishing in this area. I'll fish for anything that bites but prefer crappies and eyes. I'll be bringing the sled so I will have some mobility. Thanks for the help everyone. smile.gif

Fish the deepest holes in the Wolf Bay and Niles Bay areas. There are crappies there and you should also pick up some walleyes. Look for the fishhouses to find the holes.

I fished the flats, the weedlines, and deep holes with little luck over the last week. Caught just a few crappies, lots of perch, and one eye. We still had a great time. Thanks for the pointers.
