how's the ice thickness on Hickory?

Not sure on Hickory but mom has a place 12 miles from there and the ice is 3" thick 4o yards from shore. Dad chops and measures it with a ruler every day.

(I assume you mean Hickory just off 169--looks like a good little lake--pannies? gators? eyes? Have you fished it before?

thanks for the reply, ya, pan fish. If you can find them, it's a nice little lake. I was just thinking its smaller and might be one I can get out on sooner.

anyone? update on ice conditions here on hickory? Or other lakes just south of aitkin?

I drove by Hickory on Sunday and there was a lot of open water. I fished Hanging Kettle with tip ups and got 4 pike I had 4in on the east side with lots of open water on the west side.
