Seems to me the east bay of Reno freezes earlier than most and I've been out there a few times. Also the Glenwood beach area of Minnewaska. Both good early ice walleye areas.

**EDIT**

I just got an email from a local stating there's a half dozen portables on Reno this morning. Anybody been out? It's killing me that I was just there over the weekend and couldn't get out, and now I won't be back until after xmas...

**END EDIT**

Where do you guys like to go for early ice?

You are right they usually do, but I drove by both on Sunday and you could of docked your boat at the Water's Edge on Minnewaska. As for Reno the bay had some ice, but the SE shore and main lake were still wide open.

Reno has been seeing some action. Actually heard of some fishing by boat the same day first ice-man was out! ****BE CAREFUL***

got shiners in a few days ago.....had three or four guys heading out to Reno yesterday...

other early ice prospects....Pelican by Ashby is usually good first ice...walleyes and crappies...

Pocket and Mary usually freeze a little earlier.

Customer informed several small lakes by Barrett were iced over.

5 day forecast has weekend temps over 40....main chain in Alex won't be fishable for a while....

Good Luck- the problem with Reno is that once the traffic gets going, especially when everyone hears that they can be on the lake,it's a mad dash to the lake and the fish will spook.
