lake S of hwy 36 of 694

Anybody try icefishing the little lake right in the corner south of hwy 36 and east of 694 in oakdale? I see some guys fishing it once a while. Wondering if there are any sunnies or crappies in it? Looks like it might have some depth to it.

Hey rosspj59,

I have ice fished both those lakes quite a few times over the last few years. I live right by both of those lakes in Oakdale.there is not much in the one you are talking about. Dont even no the name of it. It is rather shallow I have found 8 ft a couple of times and have never caught anything with any size to it. LOTS of small sunnies a few crappies and a couple of small largemouths is all I have been able to pull out of it. The lake to the north is a better option. I have gotten some decent northerns out of it. They have closed off the acess point so now it is a walking lake or 4-wheeler deal. Good lake even got a couple of decent crappies but it is not a numbers lake you wont catch a ton fish but they are a least big enough to start a meal with.And is very deep with lots of points and humps.

The northern lake has a nice hump under the power lines. The southern lake has a ton of fish in it (sunnies crappies bass) but there is no size to them. I does get fished quite a bit in the summer months also. Good Luck if you go and let me know how you do. Had a recent addition to the family and dont know how much I will get out this year !!!!
