I a so excited for walkable ice but I can't get out there yet so I might as well post and get some feedback from some other anciuos ice anglers. Where are ya'll headed for early ice and what is your target? I am looking for somewhere to find some walleyes and perch, Madison is a likely lake. If the walleyes and perch don't work out then I might try some pike out in shallow water. Does anybody have any suggestions for a likely spot on a lake to spear a few 3-6 pound pike. Any info on that would be great. Anyway I hope we get some really cold weather with minimal winds SOON!!!! STAY SAFE and GOOD FISHIN!!!!!!!!!!

Early ice i will be headed to Clear lake by new ulm after crappies and walleyes and then to hanska for some walleyes, 17 degrees this morning, if only it wouldnt had rained there would have been 2+ inches on the lakes im betting, forcast doesnt look to good either, above freezing everyday for a week according to weather.com, o well hopefully its worth the wait.

Sorry to here that this will be your last post on this site troutman. I live in the Northwest part of waseca and I am sure that I have seen you before and just not known it. Thanks for the info on the spots for pike and eyes. I think that Tetonka should be good for eyes this year becuase I have been catching some dandies there this fall. Glad to hear all of your are getting into the ice fishing mode, cause I sure am. I can;t wait until we have some walkable ice down here. I would like to hear some of your predictions on when we will have safe ice around here, I am saying 2weeks from now. GOOD FISHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
