Ball Hitch on a Bearcat 550 Cat.

Ronsay

Question

Has anybody used a ball hitch on there snowmachine to pull a wheel house? I have not been able to locate a prebuilt bolt on hitch system for it, but has anybody fabricated one and tried this?

These machines have awesome pulling power and I think it would work if there was enough hight clearance on the tongue.

For the people that don't have a 4x4 but would like to get on earlier ice this may be an option. This year 12" of ice may be a long ways off.

where are you located?, i think i can get you what you need.

I'm in the Nevis area and have a Daughter that lives in Monticello which is not to far from you.

Are you talking about a hitch that is built for it, or would it have to be fabricated?

i have never seen a ball hitch coupler for a sled, imo, because a snowmobile's suspension is just not made to handle the toungue weight associated with them. but if you are confident your sled can handle the toungue weight, it could be a fabricated part.

i would do it for you but not being able to post emails or numbers makes it kind of tough to exchange the neccesarry info. maybe you can ask the administration for a green light if you want to try and work that out. but i'm not sure how that works.
