Fish lake in eagan

I fished this lake a couple times this summer and noticed on the dnr website they stock alot of catfish in it, has anyone ever caught one in there or know how to taget them.

I've have caught a few. Must be during warm day, mourning hours or early evening hours. Biggest one I caught out of there was about 12inches. Used a bobber with small peice of chicken liver on hook. It's unlikely you will catch one, and most of the time it ends up being a bull head.

Fish Lake has tremendous fishing pressure and alot of run-off problems in the summer. Spring and Fall are best times. Summer is good if you have a canoe fish the side of the lake that is by Pilot Knob. It doesn't have the bass population it once used to have. You catch an occasional pike if your lucky. Lotsa sunnies and supposedly crappies but the craps are bunched up together in unreachable areas unless you canoe to find them.

Yeah there are just WAAAY too many bullheads in Fish Lake to even have a chance of getting a cat out of there really.

I've caught a few out of tanners which has a lot less bullheads in it (you get a few, but they are all bigger ones) But then I gave up after I kept on getting kicked off there at night. I have only caught one cat out of a pond or a lake during the day, and that was a freak from a pond that was NOT stocked with catfish. (musta been released there by a resident who caught it out of the Mississippi or something)
