Weather and Ice

Hey Guys,

Been down in the great states of Kansas and Missouri over the past two weeks. Just wondering what the conditions are up there. Any snow on the ground? Ice? Just curious. When I get too far from the Big V, I begin to get jittery. Can't wait to get back. First though, I have to stuff myself with turkey, and hit Bass Pro.

Doug. I drive by your place everyday on the way to work. Ice is only about 20 feet off shore and there was a very small amount of snow this a.m. Suppose to be cool tonight like 8 degrees but warm up this weekend. First time in a long time we'll be fishing soft water on Thanksgiving!!

Here in KC, we had 7" of snow this morning (weather dudes only predicted 1"-2"). Fat wet flakes - made for a heavy snow that stuck to the trees. Kinda pretty - until you have to shovel it.

We have a couple of lakes close by that are used as cooling for electric power generation. Those lakes have 'soft' water year-round and I hear fishing can be pretty good in and near the hot-water outlet. I may just have to try that this winter.

Doug - Hank here. Just looking at the Eagle Eye Cam. Looks like the next bay over from you is developing some skim ice. Let me know if you have an hour or so on your way back - I'd love to get together with ya'll. Otherwise, have a safe trip.

Just checked weather.com and it said that the temp was 5 degrees in Tower, MN BRRRRR...gotta be making some ice now The ice is coming.....can't wait.
