duck hunting spots

Need a little help here. My buddy and I have not shot too much in the north metro and are thinking about doing a little duck hunting this weekend in western MN. Does anybody have any good suggestions as far as lakes/rivers/ponds in the area. We have a boat and all the gear. We just do not have any idea where to go. Thanks.

No ducks where we've been hunting but I did hear that there were some down around Litchfield and Hutch. Lots of lakes, just have to do some scouting.

For what it's worth, I'd recommend not taking a road trip to SW Minnesota. I've been hunting hard around the Hadley/Slayton/Avoca area and it's been slim pickins.

boilerguy, we where out in SW and we seen thousands of birds last friday. The one guy that I went out with on friday went back on sunday and took a limit in 45 minutes.

I took a limit on friday by 9am after busting a hole open for the birds.

Wont give up any spots but will say check around Ivanhoe and Canby area lots of places to hunt.

jblabs, I've heard rumor that nort and a little west of me is good..ie Ivanhoe area. I've also heard that if you have the tolerance to handle the war zone the Talcot area is doing fairly well.

Maybe a small road trip is in order for me this coming weekend.

It's been warmer and windy the last couple days. The little pond by me has opened back up.
