Ice Fishing

Recommended Posts

It is almost time to fire up the auger. What are some of the better lakes to ice fish around the St. Cloud area? Just curious.

horseshoe chain has some good action at times, good crappies on ceder island and cats on horseshoe. Lot of sunfish in pearl and goodners, most are small but good action. Rice is decent for walleyes, the break between the 2 basins gets alot of attention.

Jimbo, how is it going? Sounds like you have a few little honey holes. There are some out there, Later AJ

Depends on what you're looking for. I like Rice for walleyes and crappies. I think I'll hit the horseshoe chain more this year to get into a mixed bag of walleyes, panfish and catfish. Little Rock can be very good early for walleyes and crappies.

Other lakes that can be good are Pearl, Grand, Briggs, Koronis, Big Lake(Richmond), Goodner and Two Rivers. Stop in here or your local bait shop to find out what's hot when you're heading out for the latest reports.
