Have you tried Buffalo lake or Howard. This time of year I hit the Mississippi river back waters in the evenings. Start with crappie minnows, sometines try fatheads for the bigger crappies. If your looking for a nice bunch of fish, hit the river in Red Wing, the walleyes are starting to bite real good. I was there last friday limited out. One was a 22+ inch, In-fisherman master anlger award, Sauger.

Thanks jiggin jim

You mentioned walleyes on the river. However, as you well may know -- you have to know what you are doing very specific for each type of species. I am mainly(99%) bass fisherman. When I catch a wally's it luck(or maybe skill if I feel arogant). But really its good to see there is another person still fishin. Can you point me some more specific direction for the lakes(not spots just depths). I am out this weekend both sat and sunday. I have heard the wally bite on token has been great- again you have to know what you are doing.
