The world loves the Pack

If you want to know why the whole world loves the pack its because of things like Bubba Franks going to hand the football to a child in the stands after a touch down instead of doing the chicken dance or doing cheerleader type things (Culpepper) after their actions. Thats why the world loves the pack. When you travel the United States or Mexico or where ever you see Packer hats and clothes. I have yet to see a Vikings hat.

Muskybuck, get over it, not everyone loves the pack. Go anywhere in Chicago or the Twin Cities and you will see how much the Pack is loved. The Packers are not America's team, they are Wisconsin's team. You might as well say the same thing about Dallas. I wouldn't mind the Packers nearly as much if the Packer fans wouldn't be quite so obnoxious. I can't stand listening to Packer fans talk about how much everybody loves the Packers. By the way, Randy Moss has given almost all of his touchdown balls to the kids on the floor in the dome with special needs, it's not just a Packer thing. Do you watch any other actual games, or just the outrageous highlights on ESPN.

Nothing personal, probably a little bitter about last night, and I grew up in a border town, the rivalry gets pretty heated.

I don't know about "the whole world" but last night's referees definitely love the Pack.

96 trigger stole all my points, and I too am pretty bitter. I will say, however, that I've been to Mexico a couple times and have never seen Packers gear. Lots of Cowboys stuff down there though!

First off, get a life! My god are you full of yourself! If the Badgers would have been able to score some points against Michigan State I would assume they would have celebrated... but since they didn't!!

I've also been to Mexico and it's all Cowboy gear... of course you'll see a packer starter jacket here and there but the only people who still wear "Starter jackets" all live in Wisconsin and Mexico!

I've never seen a good looking person wearing any packer gear. Except for 2 women wearing painted jerseys, that was dynomite.

What about Javon walkers chicken dance or harris after allowing 10yrd receptions.....too much jive.

Sorry to burst peoples bubbles, but the Packers have surpassed the Cowboys as 'Americas Team'. More people like the pack in non-football areas then anyother team.

Bubba is just a reflection of the classy packers organization and people are drawn to that.

It's a fact and you can put that on the board.

Well, considering most cheeseheads consider the whole world to be the state of Wisconsin, then yea, the whole world does love the Pcak.

I can't stop thinking how classless the pack fans are. I mean, first you act all high and mighty and state your team is the best when all the did last year was BACK INTO THE PLAYOFFS, and then you have the nerve to parade around that Arizona player like he was the second comming because he made a play that allowed you to BACK INTO THE PLAYOFFS, and then last night you tromp out the Wisconsin Badger Band that had the gaul to mock an injured player...lot's of class there!

But yea, the whole world loves the pack so anything you do that is silly the whole world agrees with ya...lol..see ya Christmas Eve...WITH MOSS:D

A quote from CNN.com

It's amazing, and a little sad, that the Minnesota special-teamer Derek Ross actually had possession of the fumbled Robert Ferguson kickoff return in the final minute of the Packers-Vikings game. And Ross was down before the pigpile got the ball disengaged from him and into the hands of a Packer. Green Bay then moved a few yards into field goal range and won. That stolen ball, quite likely, is the difference between the Vikings having a two-game lead over the Packers this morning and the Pack and Vikes being tied at 5-4 atop the NFC North

MJR,

I've read the stats many times over the past several years. The Cowboys have been pretty bad lately and that has hurt them. Here for example is an article, a little dated but representative nonetheless...

BF I aint converting, what a country full of Maroons.

What is the take in Packerland on the fumble at the end of the game. Keep in mind we all saw the replay of the viking on the ground with the ball and a packer on top of him going for the ball. And no I am not giving excuses we lost you won. I think neither team is going to go far in the playoffs with their respective defenses.

Good game though, the toilet bowl was interesting.

Otto you sound surprised you guys won? I woudn't be surprised if you were right and the pack did finish 8-8

Classy organization......Did Chmura ever open that daycare center?

The Packers and Vikings defenses are just plain horrible. At this point, the winner of the division can only hope lady luck is on their side when playoff time comes. The Bears and Lions are even more of a fraud and will fade down the strech.

As far as the fumble goes, this is not the first time the ball has exchanged hands in the bottom of the pile. That's the NFL.

Where is the outrage when the Packers had the 4th and inches just plays before and the refs gave them a bad spot, after clearly, the Packers had gotten the first down?

Plenty of bad calls on both sides of the ball. That too is the NFL.

Chmura - daycare, hahaha, that's priceless.

Just want to know what makes the Packers such a classy team? I saw them do their share of dancing, shaking, and crying about calls. It's the NFL, there isn't any organization that is heads above the rest. There are just some that are much worse than others (T. Owens).

Mocking an injured player, parading around a guy from another team that got you into the playoffs, where is the class in that?

Interesting info on the Packers being Americas team, I think that will all change when Favre resigns. The team will really lose alot of its fan base when he is gone. Also, the poll was done on 3,000 people, not a very accurate representation for all of the U.S.

LOL @ the Chumura comment.

Hey Otto, Like you've NEVER seen Favre rant and rave, geeze, he jumps around more than Kelly Campbell!!

Just goes to show, in "Cheeseworld", the Pack can do no wrong, while everyone else are just whiners and crybabies.

Hey, now that Milli has left Cheeseworld, when is Vanilli gonna cut his hair? grin.gif

The vikes made a heck of a comeback to make it interesting. You have to admit they were struggling there for awhile. About the fumble its pretty hard to blame that call for the loss. Everyone knows how much the ball changes hands in a scrum like that. I don't think the refs did do a very good job overall. You have to remember the fumble wouldn't have meant squat if they would have spotted the ball in the right spot with Luchey when it was 4th and 1 inside the Vikes 20. Even Collinsworth, the worlds worst announcer, thought it was a horrible spot. If he gets that the first down the Pack would have went in for a score and put it out of reach.

MJR

I think Chmura did open that center. It's right next to the Moon womens shelter, and Moss' crossing guard safety school.

Tom

I'd rather BACK into the playoffs than watch it on T.V.

Mock and injured player, Give me a break. Moss was laughing at it himself. It was a bunch of kids in a college pep band.

Oh and another thing. I think Hovan should stick to intimidating band kids cause he sure isn't scaring any NFL QBs.

Hey Nolte ... I know what block you're talking about. That's just down the street from Favre's Pharmacy!

Here's a link to the MOST recent poll about popularity in the NFL ... and the Packers sunk 5 percent compared the year before and are now tied with the Cowboys. (Apparently Dallas won a couple of key "blue states.")

http://www.harrisinteractive.com/harris_poll/index.asp?PID=418

By the way, we know that it's not the first time a fumble has changed hands, but why not review it? Contrary to what was said on TV, it is definitely a reviewable play.

My take is that it was pretty much like any other fumble in the NFL. Things happen in the pile up and by time the referees get there to sort things out who know what happens. Granted if either the Packers or the Vikings had a defense that didn't resemble a high school football team the fumble talk would be non existent. Pretty much though it was your typical Packer-Viking game. Fun to watch with little bit of controversy. Looking at the rest of the way though I think the schedule will favor the Vikings. I'm looking at Vikes 10-6 while the Packers at 9-7. Either way both are a pretty average team.

Maybe if Moss would have visited Favre's pharmacy he would have been in the game. Can't coach toughness.

Hovan would have a hard time beating up a wisconsin band member. Not sure what the fascination with a somewhat underaverage player is, probably media related rather than talent level. I think that is a GB thing.

Not sure if you guys are seeing this but looks like min and gb have the same records.

Nolte, being hopped up on goofballs does not make you tough.

Vikes fans are not the one saying there team is made up of a bunch of saints, the pack fans are, I am just wondering what is deemed classy in Wisconsin. Other than drinking schlitz out of a wine glass.

Warren Moon that is weak, Donald Iguewebueke was making almost a million a year and he was caught smuggling cocaine into the county.

Chris Walsh was sentenced to a chain gang somewhere in the south where they spend 14 cents a day on each inmate. I think he was driving at a packer .22

We all know all about Favre's toughness. It's unquestionable.

We know this largely because it's hyped EVERY season, if for no other reason than the fact that the Packers continue to bring it up, every year. He plays with pain, yes, but he also tells you plenty about it when the game is done.

Randy Moss, before a couple games ago, hadn't missed a game, despite half a year with a bad foot and a 1/4 of a year with a badly messed up back. You just don't hear him whining about playing when this hurts or that hurts. Not Favre or anybody with Moss' injury would have played with partially torn hamstring - there's no way to help the team in that condition.

I'm not ripping Favre here, I have a lot of respect for him ... I just think it's a little silly to say someone's not tough when they have something like a torn hamstring. It's not like we're talking about soreness ...

Go Vikes!

Went for a long drive praying the Pack could hold on just so we wouldn't have to listen to the Minn fans, but alas, even a loss can't stop them. One of my favorite riddles:

Know the diff between Apes and Viking fans?

.

.

.

Apes know their place!

________

A win is a win is a win - not last week or last year or last decade - but YESTERDAY - so the bragging rights are still flying in GB no matter how many injuries or blown calls had an influence or who had more ex-players with legal troubles - bookies don't pay for anything but the final score.

Now, if either team can play some D', they might have a chance at the playoffs.

I doubt an ape would know its place.

The Pack beat us yesterday no doubt about it, I do not think anyone is in disagreement about it, but we are not going to let that get in the way of some good natured ribbing.

If I were a Packer fan and my team was known as America's team, I would jump off the wagon! Who wants to be a part of that?

P.S. The Chmura quote was great! Perfect timing!

I hear all this about backing into the playoffs and if I remember right I believe the Vikes helped us "back" into the playoffs as well, thank you, if Im mistaken Im sure someone will soon point it point it out. I did see a vikings camper headed west down the highway today, musta been coming from the promise land, must have been a die hard fan which leads me to the MJR's comment about sainted players, thats what real fans think of their players, they idolize their team and its players whether they watch the game or not, they dont bash their team when they are on a bad run. Otto man, good call on the 5 year old, couldnta said it better myself, and genegodawg had a valid point as well. As far as us "cheeseheads" wanting the whole world to be wisconsin, thatd be great cause then we wouldnt have any MN drivers to complain about or disgruntled fans to listen to after a Vikings loss,oh yeah, and I like being called a cheesehead, sounds better than mud duck or swampy I think. Just some more "healthy" banter. grin.gif

Muskybuck,

I know some of these are repeats but lets review class acts.

Farve runs around in a circle with his finger in the air and Daunte does his roll.

Moss hands the ball to a special needs fan - Bubba Franks hands the ball to a fan.

Vikes criminals are Mixon, Kramer, Walsh, etc...Pack criminals are Chumura, Cade, Davenport, those who shot Devine's dog, etc...

Seems to me that there are good and bad guys all over. Get off your high horse and get some perspective.

Lastly, my group has been to over 20 different road stadiums and we are in agreement that the best fans in the nation are in Houston. They are passionate about their team, they are respectful of the visiting fans and they act with class. Green Bay was not close to the worst but they are not the best. They are like the extreme political groups. They only seem like the majority because they are always in your face.

Sorry, I don't usually like to add to unconstructive threads but I can't stand a statement that is clearly made with blinders on or through green and gold colored glasses. Congrats to the Pack, they won. I hope the rest of the season is as exciting as last nights game. With ref's like last nights it should be (I had to get that one in)

A shot and a goal for Fishyguy!!!!!!

Question for Wisconsinites: Why don't you back the Brewers or Bucks????

It seems like almost every packer and Badger football fan says "I don't follow Basketball or baseball" Why is this I ask? The only conclusion that I come to is that you are the ultimate bandwagon fans or that all of your Blatz beer swillin' parents of the 60's brainwashed you as children.... help me and my other fellow "Mud Ducks" understand whats up with you people who love to love yourselves so much.
