I'm not the most internet savvy guy so this question might seem dumb to you all but how do you guys get those neat pics and drawings under your name when you post.

Hey Johnny Law,

Go to the open water forum and check out the post on avatars.

It seems that it's coverd very well there, but as you can see I'm not the savvy internet type and I don't have an avatar either . I think that some of the peoples avatars are good and some I just can't tell what the h e double hockey sticks they are.

Make sure you are logged in:

Click on “My Home” link: (if not already there)

Look at the Main Configuration menu at bottom of page

In the Personal Information , email, password, etc. click on Edit

Put the URL for the picture (avatar) you want under the heading: URL to your avatar (100x100 max pixels, may be smaller) (.gif, .jpg, .png accepted)

ensure you highlight the radio button, then

Submit your changes

How do I do this with a jpg file that I have on my computer?

You need a web site to store the jpg picture on, then link to it from there by inserting the URL as described above.
