this morning my opening day hunt was interupted by a call from my sister, my dad was being transported to saint lukes hospital in duluth. he has a mass on his brain. they dont know if it is a tumor or an abcess but either way it is not good. all of your prayers would be appreciated! we meet with a neuro-surgeon tommorow to discuss options.

thank you,

Tony

Thoughts and prayers out to you and your Dad.

Bummer for the timing. Just remember, no matter how much you like to hunt, you have many years ahead of you.

SFG,

My prayers are with you. My dad is recovering from cancer right now. After surgery the doc basically said there was only a few more months left. That was over two years ago now and as far as anyone can tell he doesn't have it anymore. He still goes to Duluth for check-ups and treatment. I believe attitude plays a big role in recovery----not just your dad's, but those around him as well. He's going to need a lot of positive support. Hang in there!

Hey Tony, My thoughts are with you and your Dad. Certainly hope all goes well and your Dad recovers completely. I just know that he will with all these good fisherpeople pulling for him. Sorry we never got together on that float trip on the Littlefork River this summer. My invitation still stands anytime you want to come up and fish LOW with me this winter or next summer. 1DIRTBALL aka:Keith

i want to thank you all again! dad is doing well. infact he maybe released tomorrow! they are still trying to find the original source of the cancer as the type of tumor they remove comes from another area. his lungs and abdomen look clear so they are looking other places

either way he will need chemo or some type of treatment to deal with the remaining cancer in the brain. he keeps talking about getting out so he can hunt the rest of the deer season. he wants to get a permit to shoot from his vehicle. i dont think the doctors are going to let that happen but it shows where i get my love for hunting from!!

i will update this when we hear more!!

thank you all again!!

Tony

Hey Tony, Great to hear that your Dad is doing so well. I admire his spirit for wanting to get out so he can go deer hunting and I don't blame him. Tell him if he needs help that I will come over and help him sneak out of the hospital so he can get that "tirty point buck!" Here's hoping you will have continuing good news. cool.gif

Glad to hear things are getting better. I hope your father gets out to at least see some deer. Maybe he can hunt vicariously through you for this season while he gets stronger. I also hope he continues to improve steadily.
