Red Lake Walleyes

Has there been any further discussion on when URL will be open for walleye fishing? I thought I had heard '06 at one time. Have there been any other details released? i.e. bag limit? slot limit? I have never been there an not caught at least one walleye. Last winter I caught a couple that were 19" (and I of course put them back.)

I did a search for you

http://www.fishingminnesota.com/fishinfo271.html

check this out as it says spring 06'. Might want to book your reservations now! Went out this past spring looking for crappies and caught nothing but walleyes! All the eyes' were in the 14-17" range. I sure hope the DNR puts in a size/number restriction for limits.

Thanks for the URL. That was a good article for being brief. I agree with you in that I hope they have a slot and lower bag limit. The article made a good point of saying that the 20+" 'ers are probably native fish and need to be protected.

It really seems like that has a solid potential for becoming an awesome walleye fishery again. Hopefully we can all be a little more responsible this time and help perpetuate it.
