I'm off to a bad start. I put my fourwheeler in the back of my truck, somehow bumped the throttle, slammed into the front of the box and smashed the box into the cab, luckily did'nt break the window, but i have a nice dent in the back. Hopefully this is not a sign.

Gary, You probably run your boat the same way! Pedal to the fiberglass.

Re: Deer hunting. We took a 220# and a 230# yesterday. Small one today. How about that wind? I was afraid to be in my stand.

Got another 10 pointer today, along with a couple does. I haven't done a thing but one of the guys in our group has shot 5 deer so far. Without him, we stink big time.

I go to school up here and was going to hunt up here this week untill a nice 12 point came across the stand back home. It weighed about 240 and scored 153 3/4 gross

I got a spike on thursday with the pickup, not good, $3500 in damage. Nice way to start the season. I was amazed how fast they can come out of a ditch, didn't even get my foot on the brake. Oh well, we got two on opening morning and nothing since. So far it is $280 a pound for venison. I will savor every bite.

was with a group of 5 guys near Marcel, my uncle had the bright idea of not shooting any does on opening morning, well we didnt see any deer after that. It seemed in the area we were in that if you didnt get your deer opening morning you didnt get one, there was almost no shooting after sat, left tues morning and still barely heard any shots.

thats that old time thinking back when there were no deer dont shoot no does till toward the end of the season. now with all the bonus deer we have to get rid of some of them does and maybe if we shoot more of them and let the spikes go awhile they will be nice deer. anyway my 2cents

We were hunting opener up in the Balsam area. Not as good as it has been the last few years, but I'd chalk that up to crappy weather. Really warm on the opener, and really cold and windy on that sunday, deer didn't seem to be moving very much. Out of the 6 of us my brother shot an 8, my youngest nephew shot his first buck, a 6, and I shot a doe with my bonus. Planned to come back up for third weekend, but being in college in WI makes it more difficult. We did see some more does we couldn't get shots on and some spikes and forks that we passed on, but getting used to the close to 100% success rates we were getting used to the last few years it seemed dissapointing, but guess it wasn't too bad. Fun though, wish I could do a lot more this year. Dam school! smile.gif
