I noticed the other thread is gone completely. (Hence this topic I would guess)

I am guessing it was removed because it started to become a thread with people complaining about rules against the stringer, pics of fish going to the fry pan, etc....

Bottom line, I have talked with Rick directly about the forum rules that ban pics of fish on stringers, or pics of dead fish.

I don't see that pics of fish headed for the fry pan are that bad. BUT, it is Ricks rules, and I guess thats fine. He wants to promote CPR, and I am all for that.

When everyone signs up on FM, they are signing up to be a member according to the posted rules. And the rules are clearly stated in regards to fish pics.

Not a big deal. I know you had no intentions at all of breaking any rules. Heck, I even replied to your initial post with the stringer pic, and it NEVER even crossed my mind that you had "crossed the line".

Now I see it, plain as day, in the Forum Policy. I understand.

My dad is 90 years old. Touch of Dementia/Alzheimers going. Last summer my brother and I took him fishing. We ended up deciding to take him to my brother's pond in SW MN, stocked with (legal) crappies. We wanted to thin out a few. We let my dad use barbed hooks, but only gave him a dozen minnows. The old man caught 15 crappies before the minnows were gone (plus he threw a few little ones back). Then we gave him barbless hook, with plastic. Darned if he still didn't catch one...we made him throw it back. Then a second, we made him throw it back. After we made him throw the third one back, he put down his rod and said "Then what's the point of fishing".

I guess any policy designed to dissuade that mentality is OK with me.

Yup I blew that one. I forgot about the stringer thing. I shoulda took a picture holding each one . All in all a good summer and fall. The tarp is on the boat but not sure if it will stay there.
