Green Lake Walleye Tourney

Recommended Posts

The tournament is June 5th and 6th. Is anyone going to be fishing this tournament? My brother and I will be fishing this tournament for our second year.

There is some info on it at Mel's bait shop. I don't know how much though. It does however require ppl to be 18 and over.
So ya can count me out for at least another year. Otherwise I would probably be in it too.

Really, I guess I didnt know that about the 18yr old rule. Sorry for bad info there.
I probably wont do it anyways this year, being in highschool sports and all.

GL to all.

Is anyone fishing the tournament? I would like to meet some people from the site. I am boat number 14. Most likely I will be wearing a blue Berkley hat or a Notre Dame hat so stop by and say hi. My brother and I will probably be the youngest ones at the banquet so we should be easy to find.

I might just go out and fish green on Saturday or something and see how I do.
One of these years I am going to get this "sleeper" walleye lake down again, and be able to consistently catch fish. About 5 years ago I could go out at dusk and catch 4 or 5 nice eyes. Now if I did that all I would catch is some nice bugs.
It just looks like my Aqua-Vu is really going to get a work out this year. :P

Did anyone else fish the tournament? My brother and I finished in 25th place of 48 boats. Saturday we weighed one fish and sunday we weighed five. Our total weight was 8.04 lbs. The winning weight was 22.56 lbs give or take an once or two. The winning team also caught the biggest fish 8.78 lbs.

Do you know who won the tourney? What there names were? Or their boat number? Was Don Pack in the tourney?

The winning team was Fladaboe and Swanson. I do not recognize that name.

We easily had 20 fish (kept a couple here and there) in the boat by 7am most days this past week. Evening bite was just as good.

We ran out of minnows and couldn't find any at the bait shops.  So we fished with leeches last night and had great success.   Just about all of them we caught were 14 - 17 inches.  Shallower bays have warmed up and they are in their feeding at dusk.

Shamrock did have rainbows and chubs but their tank broke down. They’re out of the minnow business. River group is right, though. A leech caught a 22” er this morning. RLG

Well the motor left me stranded last night in 3 ft waves. Took me about 3 hrs to trolling motor back to the launch. I believe it's a high pressure fuel pump issue. If I can get it fixed by then, I'll let you know and get you out on the water

Yep, ordered a fancy sectional fence with gate coming in a few days. It's my wife's flower garden so she wanted some nice, instead of looking at her Tulips through chicken wire!  It's not my garden I don't care. Anything to stop the bunnies and crying! 😵‍💫
