Walleys are starting to go

Recommended Posts

shocked.gif The bite is starting to get hot on local lakes. Maple is seeing some nice fish caught, just fish the main lake on the south shore or by the inlet. Union is where I fish mostly. I believe you can catch more quality fish there. That is just my thought thou. Fish union at night, that's the most productive time and work the breaks. The water is so clear that is the reason you have to go at night. Don't be afraid to move also, it's almost like bass fishing you have to find the active fish.

Saturday morning I was fishing with a buddy and he caught three fish in about 10 casts. A 23", 24", and a 25". All were released to fight again another day. So far this season my friends and I have easily released 20 'eyes over 21", and lots of nice 14-17" keepers too. We need some hot weather so a guy can start chasing those big pig nordskies down in the deep water! Leeches for live bait has been best lately but it seems to change daily. The big ones really love BIG crankbaits. Good luck to all and let the nice ones go for another day.
