Long Lake is a very tought lake to fish. The structure of the lake is all over the place and with the deep holes in it it is very common for the fish to go deep and become inactive. There also is alot of smaller panfish in the lake. What ever you are looking to fish long will have it there are pike, bass, panfish and my favorite walleye. I know of a few spots that might be worth a shot depending on what you are fishing for.

I would like to try for walleyes.
I know walleyes like all kinds of structure, so the lake should be a great place to fish.
I am going to wait till I can get my boat out there, is sure looks like a tough lake to ice fish with all the steep dropoffs.

As for panfish, I know of other lakes in the area that are great for panfish, so I won't be chasing them on Long Lake.

Yes you can run into walleyes but it is tought to stay on them I have ent out there and caught walleyes one day and then the next day I go back to the same spot and there isn't anything there. Try the points there are some points that have nice sand bars out in front of them. On the south end of the lake by the boat ramp there is no point in fishing it is to shallow and all that there are some northern and tiny sunfish. Once you get up past the first narrow from the boat access then you can strat looking for spots to fish. My family has a cabin on the lake so I fish it often but if you want to finds some walleyes with some size head to Big Sand much bigger fish in that lake.
