Browns on the Straight

Recommended Posts

Hey Jgunny, have not been up that way since the beginning of august, but in the past I have had my best luck using a 1/6 white rooster tail. There are good numbers of small fish for a couple miles down from Osage, but my personal best came from the strech upstream from the Church a couple gravel roads west of HWY 71. I dont remember the name of the church but if your from the area you will have no problem finding it. That particular browner was 20.5" inches long and very stocky, I caught him on a rapala retrieved very quickly through the head of a large run that had some fast water coming into it. You can catch them at just about every bridge crossing all the way down to HWY 71. I have not done any fly fishing on the straight most of the river it to confining for my inacurate casting. Good Luck and let us know how you do.
