Dave, welcome to the forum. Hope someone can chime in with some help, but If not.  You can also check them out on the MN DNR Lake finder web page.  Lots of good info like test netting, stocking and maps.   Let us know if you find anygood info?  👍

I've been to Zumbra and it's a fun lake to fish. Mainly though I stick to the south metro lakes in Prior Lake, Shakopee and Burnsville

I can't really specifically comment on the most recent bite on those lakes, but I've fished several of them in the past.  Auburn has the best trophy potential, as the current state record largemouth was taken from there in about 15 years ago.  You will need a Three Rivers Park District Pass to launch/park there though.

Ann Lake has a special regulation on bass so it is probably a good numbers lake.  Generally speaking, the less pressure there is on a lake this time of year, the better.  Bigger lakes with more parking often have bass tournaments, leagues, and derbies because they have room.  Smaller lakes with more limited parking will produce fish easier.

Fished Ann a few weeks ago and it was real slow.  Got bored of trying for bass that wouldn't bite and worked a swim bait for a while which produced 5 hammer handles.  Buddy caught a decent bass near some lily pads but otherwise I was surprised how slow it was.  It was our first time on the lake.  All of the lakes you mentioned have bass and fish similarly.  I think the pressure on bass is so much it makes fishing particularly tough end of season.  I have aquariums of fish and believe me fish aren't stupid and catch on and learn to things.

Some more heavily fished lakes are tough ALL season.  Lake Minnetonka and Mille Lacs come to mind.  The water is clear, there are tournaments all the time, and the fish are not easy to catch.

That is why I focus my efforts on lakes with less pressure.
