Question

Anyone have a preference on fluorocarbon line? I run braid to fluorocarbon on my jigging rod and fluorocarbon to fluorocarbon leader on my rigging rod. So far I've used Trilenes versions,  sunline and recently a 23$ spool of segar. Maybe my hopes are too high, but the segar didn't last more than 15 outings within a 4 week span. I like fluorocarbon due to lower stretch than mono. It just gets terrible memory.

What pound test are you using?

20lb has been the sweet spot for me on everything except muskie gear.  I’ve used Stren and the Seaguar.  I don’t have any complaints about either to be honest.  The Seaguar seems stiffer than the Stren though.

I have tried different brands of Fluorocarbon without success. My go to line now is Sufix Advance Mono lime green with Invisiline fluoro leader.

I use Seaguar Invisix for most applications.  Tatsu is even better, but its very expensive.

For leader material when in pike or muskie territory, I use Seaguar Blue Label.

6 or 8 lbs test just for walleye fishing. I really appreciate the info! How many outings do you guys go between changing line? I always retie leaders and swivels each outing as I learned the hard way from not doing so

I guess I should clarify I only do flouro leaders, not the main line.  I have dropped down to 10lb test for walleyes.

I let the abrasion tell me when I need to change.  Sometimes I can get by half the season on a leader with a snap.  Sometimes I’ve had to retie in the same outing.

I tried a couple of times, but I did not like the quality

Well I bought the expensive P Line, we'll see how it goes. Like 20$ a spool so hopefully it lasts more than a month but I do fish a lot

I inspect my fluoro leaders regularly.  Any nicks or kinks or noticeable damage should be taken care of immediately.  Isn't worth losing a big fish IMO.

I have used 80# Seaguar InvisX and 40# P-line Floroleader materials.  Mostly I use copoly mainline as topshot leaders and change out when I feel it's too worn.
