Never rented on Leech or Mille Lacs.

Winnie: Stayed at High Banks in open water in a RV, but I know it is a very good operation and wouldn't hesitate to use them.

Upper Red: Ice fishing, have stayed and fished with Bear Paw and Beacon Harbor. Would recommend both.

LOW: I have stayed at Border View, River Bend, Wheelers Point, Ballards, Sportsmans, Arnesens and a few others. Hands down Arnesens was the best. Most comfortable track vans, good fishing (they are around structure not in the featureless basin), the best restaurant and very nice lodging.

On the east side I would rank them Sportsmans, Wheelers Point, then Ballards and the rest. Sportsmans lodge rooms aren't the greatest but you don't spend much time in them. Ballards is a nice operation but the most expensive I've seen and I've had a some issues over the years. I will try to stay other places before them in the future.
