Looking at possibly getting a new 8" StrikeMaster electric auger. Everyone has them advertised at 549.00.  Anybody getting a better price or extras thrown in? Reeds has a sale if you spend over $400.00, they give you a $100.00 gift card, can't tell if it applies to augers??

It probably applies.  They still make money off those deals (as they should).

I’ve seen a lot of them in stock but haven’t paid much attention to the prices, except that sounds about right.

One thing I’ve learned in the new COVID economy is buy it when you see it, especially if it’s priced at “the going rate”. In another month who knows if you’ll be able to find it at that price anymore.  Peace of mind is worth 10% to me after wishing I had picked up some things I can’t get now.

Normally I would say check out the St, Paul Ice show in a few weeks for deals, but like Wanderer said it might be best to grab what you see this year.

I really don't have to have it, my old reliable Lazer Mag won't die. I hate paying retail, I'm always looking for a deal. I'll probably wait for the ice fishing show. Couple years ago they were giving two batteries with the purchase of a new auger.

The new strike master 24 vs are only 380 if you want to look into that. It depends on your fishing style if you are the guy that needs 50-60+ holes in a day then the 40 v could be better. The 24v and an extra battery might cost less then the 40v all together if you get them at the right place but I have generally seen lots of deals for battery's like leech said I would check out the ice show or reeds.

The 24v looks nice. I primarily fish the far northern part of the state. I don't usually drill more than 25 or so holes, unless I'm fishing with more than a couple of people. Don't know if battery life would be an issue mid to late season! I checked into Reeds and it looks like you can't use gift cards for the purchase if you want the 100.00 Reeds gift card. Bummer, I'm trying to make it look like it costs less, so I don't raise any red flags with the wife🙂🙂

Seems odd about the conditions of the gift card.  Those should be treated the same as cash or a credit card. 🤷‍♂️  Was the one you were going to use a promo card also?

I can’t imagine what you mean about deflecting to make it look cheaper in your wife’s eyes… 😉🤫😏😅
