Well this was a strange but fun season.  It started our really slow and I did not have much of a chance to scout early.  When I finally was able to put some time in, I methodically worked around the lake trying different depths and species.  After about 6 hours, I finally got a crappie, stopped in the spot, and spent the next two weeks there ?.

 

Then the crappies scattered and I went looking for them but found the sunfish.  Spent the next two weeks catching sunnies.

 

When the sunnies scattered I found the bass and caught them for two weeks.

 

When the bass scattered I found the walleyes and caught them for two weeks.

 

When the eyes quit it got really hot so I did not feel much like getting out but now the water is too low had to pull the boat.

 

In each case fishing was fast and furious with great size, but very local to the spot.  I attribute much of this success to my new boat and electronics...larger boat = better boat control, and spot lock between the humminbird and minnkota was sweet...no more anchoring while my wife gives me the evil eye after I decide I did not anchor in the spot I really wanted to be on so I have to re-anchor...and again...one more time.

 

Now its just pontooning with a beverage!
