Have some friends coming up this weekend. They have an 18" glass pleasure boat. Wondering if with the low water, we'll have trouble launching? Anybody use the launch lately?

I see this is the Vermillion/ Virgina Hibbing but cant see what lake your talking about for sure. Might be my bad I was just up at Shamrock landing on Vermillion yesterday for a bwca trip in to trout lake and pine lake. The landing was fine plenty of boats going in and out.

Thought I mentioned which boat launch, my bad. It's the one by the bar, " The Landing" on the west end. Thanks

If in doubt our backup is the launch by the campground, sort of, down by the narrows.  It is somewhat deeper

Thanks Del, I'm not familiar with that one, where exactly is it? Is it a public launch?  If I have problems, I'll bet Spring Bay Resort will let me put in. I rent a pontoon from them a couple times a year and they are about as nice as you can get!

CigarGuy - I put in and took out from The Landing this past weekend. It's low but fine. Keep the prop as far out of the water as possible and go straight from the dock to the lake. The water is a foot or so deep in some areas around there. If they are really concerned, have them use a paddle to push the boat out towards deeper water before running the prop. I've done that in past years when the lake was really low. I've also used my trolling motor.

The landing that Delcecchi mentioned on the east end of Wakemup is deeper.
