They used to be about 5 inches some bigger. But they were thick in slim creek you could grab them with your hands

Brooklyn Park Lions Club has a Smelt fry every year. I think this year their going to try a Drive through? 

We used to stop at Jack and Jim's on the way home from up north for their Sunday buffets!  ?

Last summer while doing a surgery recovery, i got into watch the canal harbor cams of Duluth. Not sure what is going on but at night there has been several people dropping what could be nets or a trap over the side of the wall.  Would like to know if these guys are catching smelt or bait?

There are guys on Facebook Market place selling buckets of Smelt right now.  One said "Fresh from Duluth"
