Crane and Sand Point Lake 2021 Report

Hey guys we are all set for our trip to Sand Point May 21, 2021. Plan to fish pike and crappies. I have been going to this lake since 1982 and now have a new generation crew. They have been going 12 years with me. We normally stay in Browns and fish that area and Grassy. We are in King Pin site this year and plan to fish towards Swanson Bay and up and around Wolf Island. Any pointers. Thanks

Been watching the Crane Lake webcam from Handbergs Marina for conditions for years. Thanks Jeff and Lori for this it helps to watch for the ice off date. Saves me a bunch of emails to people asking. I have a fishing log book that i record ice out, water temps, and water level. It certainly helps to predict what we can expect to be fishing for in mid-may. There are other webcams too Pine Point Lodge and Voyageurs . I am guessing that the ice will be off early and the water temps in the mid to upper 50's in mid May. I am going to guess ice off around April 15.

Headin up tonight from Green Bay...I am guessing black flies with warm weather ? Water warm I bet too ? Any info...have the head nets already to go and rain gear. Thanks Mark

it might be a bit early for flies......maybe a few, but i doubt them little @#$%^&* ankle biting flies wont be around yet. NOW the skeeters...........
