Annual hard water trip to Vacationland resort on Ottertail. Bite was slow probably do to very high pressure. Lots of <12” eyes able to snag half dozen keepers. Resort has 1 winter rental cabin and hard to predict the weather with reservation made in June. Plowed road 1 mile out to the structure break, 18" ice and not much snow so able to move my day wheelhouse around a bit. Trevor (the owner) has a couple rental houses on the lake and offers lake access $20 per trip, $50 weekend pass or $150 annual pass if you bring your own rig. Was a fantastic trip with family and friend. Did have one small mishap breaking the second leaf of a leaf spring on Saturday. Top spring burnt down about 5” by days end. Fearing total spring failure on I94 on the way home, found Fleet Farm in Fergus has a spring in stocks. Although lighter weight and shorter was able to attach one leaf to the top of the wheelhouse spring with a couple of “U" bolts. 
Finally after years got the youngins to take over cabin chores (son turned 50) while us older dudes occupied the comfee  sofas. Age really dose have privileges.

It was a pleasure to have several miles of prime fishing structure with only a dozen friendly shanties spread out over the area. Not like the crowds here on the metro lakes.

Always plan ahead with tools and supplies avoiding an equipment failure to end a fantastic fishing trip.
