So after returning to Minnesota after living pretty much everywhere else, I have finally returned to fishing.  Didn't realize how much I missed it until I started again.  I'm tired of fishing the river under the bridge like a troll so I'm looking for some good spots to shore fish around Ottertail.  My regular spot is too warm now and the fish have moved on.    I'm one of the odd balls who's not into muskies or walleyes.  Really prefer bluegill and bass.  I'm a bobber, nightcrawler and beer kinda girl.  Any advice on where to go?  How are the lakes in Maplewood State Park.

Some of the lakes where the otter tail river leaves, offer some shore fishing areas, both on the river and the lake. I caught a few hammer handle pike, but there were sunnies swimming all over the place.

Sorry took longer to reply, I have been trying to disconnect from technology some this year and needed a break to make fishing fun again plus I wasn't aware the Ottertail page got married with Alexandria's page.

Our cabin is in Perham and a few lakes in the area do have fishing piers but with that being said a lot of them are shallow and get really weedy this time of the year.  My favorite shore spot is south of Frazee for Crappies and Blue Gills but your talking a longer drive than normal people want to drive but it's dang near a guarantee.  Crappie bite has been amazing in the past few weeks and our boat has been knocking out a 13+ almost every trip we are on the water.  Like I said I've been trying to disconnect some this summer with work/play/personal life so drop me a direct message and that will ding my phone instantly and I'll try to help point you in a direction.
