First time on Lake Vermilion with the kids

The week is fast approaching (July4-11) and the boys (and the three dads) are excited.  Any advice (species is far less important than consistent action) would be greatly appreciated.  Staying mid-lake so east or west are options.  Thanks and good fishing!

Going up with my family for only the second time in late July, so I am not a good person to say much, but getting a good fishing hot spots map and looking at past reports on here is a great start.

Sunfish of course.   Followed by smallies.    If all else fails, rockpiles after supper.   Bobber and a leech.  Senko.   Other stuff too.    Walleye on east end but that's out of my jurisdiction.   Weedy bays for Largies and nords.   Spinner bait, swim bait, jawbreaker spoon, johnson silver minnow with some kind of trailer.
