Tofte lake advice

Hey all,

 

I am planning a trip to tofte lake middle of July.  Does anyone have any advice for mid summer fishing on this lake: areas to target, lure/bait setups?  We will be after rainbows and splake.  Your advice is much appreciated.

Small orange crankbaits trolled on the break lines. You can get rainbows bobber fishing 6-8 feet down. Splake are going to likely come from trolling in my experience there at that time of year.

@monstermoose78, for rainbow, do they actually eat the power dough trout bait on this lake or should I stick with chunks of crawler while bobber fishing?  Any size in particular for cranks?

Ones about 2-3.5 inches long deep divers or use cowbells with weights. I used a Whole crawler Under a float. Never used power dough there

Has anyone seen these boat access campsites on this lake?  We're planning on staying at one of them.
