Never fished it myself but have always heard the best laker water is on the BW side of the lake.

Excuse my ignorance, but I thought that all of Snowbank is a 25hp motor lake? I haven't paddled through it in close to twenty years though...

Snowbank is partially in the B dub so yeah, should be motorized with the 25 hp limit.  Couldn’t tell you if the non B dub portion has a limit.

I literally drove to it on a rainy day just to look at it.  It never got as much press as B side for Lakers while I was hitting that scene hard.  Sometimes I heard it called Snowblank lake so I didn’t feel the need to try it.  I did hear larger baits worked better there and they didn’t cat and mouse as much as the Lakers do in B side.

Just bait shop talk, no personal experience.

I believe the 25 HP limit only applies to   BWCA portion of the lake. It’s a super cool lake, but I have yet to catch a laker out of it. Trolled cranks once, and thought I finally caught one, only to be disappointed by a sucker!

Snowbank is a fun lake to fish but the catching is really slow mostly. I caught two lakers both about 16 inches out 20-25 trips there.

dunno what that was.   But we happened to catch the fish on my ultra light crappie rods, 4lb test line.   Kind of fun, I recommend you try it.    Unless you have expensive rods, these were bending at the point of snapping.   You do not need expensive rods and gear.  I did have a few spooled up with 6 or 8, but just used my walleye gear mainly, which is mainly 4 pound line, on med lights rods.
