We plan to search for some coho, lakers, chinook, or any fish willing to bite this weekend.  I think we will head out of McQuade.  Any reports yet?  I've seen boats, but not much in the report arena.

I'm not planning on getting out for a while yet but I if did I'd start with stick baits on top and back 100-150'.

I picked up a mess of Bombers and flashback spoons at FC and will head out later this week and will post my report then. The bay is opening up but still a good amount of ice out there

Rice's is ice free but still some ice chunks out there in the bay so slow travel and keep your eyes peeled. Hate to put a hole in the boat this early in the season.

How long do you think it will be before they put the dock in at Rice Landing?

I’ll be heading up towards McQuade either tomorrow morning or Friday morning

This year may be different. Those people may be laid off.

Headed out yesterday and one coho on a spoon trolled behind a board. That, and cold hands.

It was nice to be back on in the water

Went out yesterday afternoon after the rain lifted and launched from that smaller dock at Rice Landing

I just long lined some surface baits right from the back of the boat. No boards or dipseys

Picked up a couple cohos and one laker.  Then nothing for a couple hours except a 4 foot stick.  Water temperature wasn’t even 40°

Should get better when the smelt run.  I can’t wait until the Mn opener

Well I went out yesterday because it was probably the last nice day for a week and caught nothing

My face got windburned though

I think I’m going to hang it up until the smelt run and then I’ll wait till opener

Could not find water that was higher than 36°

It would be nice if they got the dock in at rices.  Hard to load a boat with out one.

Does anyone have any reports on water temps in the area? I saw the Superior Angling show and he said they had around 39-40 but that was down closer to Duluth.
